"Wednesday Mums" picnic

Members of All Saints’ regular “Wednesday Mums” communion service enjoyed the sunshine for their annual picnic at King George V playing fields this week. On one of the hottest days of the year the group of mums, carers ,children and members of All saints clergy team sat down on the green grass under the shade of the trees fringing the field and shared their sandwiches, squash and fruit. Though there were some loaves, fishes were not on the menu! A big thank you to Sue who brought tea from her house on a tray! Why is tea the most refreshing drink on a thirsty hot day? A tree stump was a handy table. Children were able to enjoy the nearby playground.
“Wednesday Mums” is All Saints name for the informal communion service on Wednesday mornings which is specially designed for those at home caring for babies and young children. Carers, child minders, grandparents are welcome as well as mums! The service starts from 10.30am in All Saints Church. After the service there is usually refreshments and chat in The Cornerstone.
