Watery theme for Harvest Festival

It was a watery theme at Harvest festival yesterday. As part of the Creationtime season the Harvest All-age service celebrated the gift of water and the need to share water. The whole congregation was captivated by the very funny sketch with serious spiritual mesage given by Rev Michael Johnson and Simon Martin, youth leader. It involved a hose-pipe and several buckets of water whilst Michael cleaned his teeth! The retiring collection was for the charity Wells for India, founded in Wokingham some years ago, which works to bring water to the villages of Rajasthan in India. Tins and dried goods were also collected for the Reading Churches’ Women’s Centre which provides hot meals on weekdays for local women.
