Two schools came to All Saints Church to celebrate their new partnership. Parents and friends joined staff and pupils of Whitelocke Infants and Nursery School and Palmer Junior School to fill the church last Wednesday for a service of hopes and dreams for the future of the schools. Pupils of all ages sang and said prayers, giving thanks for their schools and looking forward to the new arrangements which will see the two schools sharing the same Headteacher and working towards a full amalgamation. The Rector of All Saints, Revd David Hodgson, and the new Executive Headteacher, Mrs Tina Norman, welcomed the congregation. Revd Emma Antoine, curate at All Saints, with two volunteers mixed a cake to show the the importance of every ingredient in the mix. In a moving culmination of the service two pupils – the youngest from Whitelocke and the eldest from Palmer – took lights from two candles and together lit a third golden candle to symbolise the coming together of the two schools.
