Youth drop-in build bird boxes for churchyard

Members of the All Saints Friday Drop-In were busy last Friday night making bird boxes. Friends of All Saints Churchyard member Graham Gilbey led the young people in putting together 8 bird boxes. Graham said “It was great fun – the young people really enjoyed it – we could have built another 8 they were so good at it!”
The bird boxes will be sited in the churchyard on the next churchyard workday Saturday October 21st.
Friday Drop-In is a young people’s club run by All Saints Church which meets every Friday evening in school termtime for young people in school years 7 to 9. It meets in The Cornerstone and doors open at 7.30pm.
Friends of All Saints Churchyard are a group of volunteers who meet every third Saturday of the month to maintain the All Saints churchyard and to develop it as a sanctuary both as a place of burial and also as a haven for wildlife. OVer 60 species of birds have been observed in or over-flying the large 7 acre churchyard.
