All Saints Christmas celebrations

Christmas celebrations at All Saints Church started this afternoon with The Crib Service. A living crib was formed of numerous children dressed as shepherds, angels, kings and an array of animals. Youth leader Robert Vacher was Joseph, Alison Becker was Mary and her one-month old baby daughter Geanna was Jesus! Reverend Michael Johnson was the perplexed inn-keeper. Music was supplied by the All Saints Music Group.
A collection was taken for Christian Aid.
This was followed in the early evening by the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols, sung by All Saints Choir conducted by Director of Music David Rance, with Julian acompanying on the organ. Lessons were read by a range of church members including choristers and youth group members. The Choir sang an unusual French dialect carol arranged by David Rance and accompanied by flute and drum.
