Easter events ready to roll at All Saints

The full schedule of Holy Week and Easter events, beginning with Palm Sunday services this Sunday,is now published on the All Saints website and on leaflets available in church. (Click on title above). A new feature of this year’s Holy Week events will be “Fool’s Labyrinth”, a special prayer labyrinth for Holy Week, opening on 1st April in church and for the Holy Week evening services at 7.45pm each day Monday – Wednesday, 2nd – 4th April inclusive. The traditional ceremony of foot-washing will take place on Maundy Thursday (7.45pm). On Good Friday there will be both a service of Solemn Liturgy with All Saints Choir at 9.30am and an all-age event beginning with crafts and hot cross buns in The Cornerstone at 10.30am and ending with a short service in church at 11.15am. Also on Good Friday All Saints Choir will take part in the ecumenical vigil in Wokingham Market Place at 12 noon.
On the day before Easter, Holy Saturday, 7th April there will be a passion play entitled “Vigil”. in the church, starting at 7pm, to which all are welcome.
Easter Sunday will begin with the Dawn Service of New Fire and First Communion of Eastr at 6am in the churchyard and followed by breakfast in The Cornerstone. Fireworks in the churchyard will accompany the lighting of the Paschal Candle as in previous years. The principal service on Easter Day will be the Parish Communion for All Ages at 9.30am. To end the day there will be a service of Choral Evensong with All Saints Choir. Also on Easter Day there will be the service of Holy Communion at 8am.
