Cornerstone gets design award

All Saints’ community centre The Cornerstone is officially the best designed community building in Wokingham! It was announced a winner in the Wokingham Borough Mayor’s Design Competition at a special ceremony in the Council Chamber last night. The building scooped the top award in the Community Buildings section of the competition.

The judges’ panel praised the building for its well-chosen materials, its attention to detail and the way it has been carefully sited in relation to the church.

Rector David Hodgson, and Management Committee members Michael Nightingale and Dickon Snell collected the trophy from the Borough Mayor Cllr Angus Ross.

This is the first Mayor’s Design competition since 1994. It seeks to promote good design and sustainable development within Wokingham Borough.

The Cornerstone, opened in May 2004. It was designed by Daniel Lelliot Krauze of Maidenhead.
